Greater Flagstaff Area (GFR) Firefighter Recruitment

For the first time, the Greater Flagstaff Region (GFR) will be hosting a Green Academy, creating a pathway for qualified candidates to enter the fire service without already holding Firefighter I & II certifications.

Candidates with our without current Firefighter I & II certifications are encouraged to apply.

Applicants must meet the minimum requirements, including holding a current Arizona and/or National Registry EMT or CEP certification within the required timeframe. This hiring cycle will not include a separate lateral process.

The GFR hiring process represents Flagstaff Fire Department, Highlands Fire District, Pinewood Fire District, Summit Fire & Medical District, and Flagstaff Airport Fire.
